Bluebell sketching

Our topic this half term is Flourishing Me. As we are learning about plants in Science, in Art, we are going to be doing lots of sketching of wild flowers.

Today, we walked up Nursery Lane to have a look at the bluebells. We saw lots of bluebells on our local walk last week, so the children were very excited to sketch them! We talked about how a bluebell looked like a bell, like the one we use in class.

We started by practising sketching the lines and shapes we could see, focusing on the bell shape we had talked about. The children then used what they had learnt in Science to draw the stem, leaves and petals of the bluebell.
