This week we are continuing to use J2Code to develop our coding skills. You can click on the link below if you want to code with us…
This week, to end of unit of the Great Fire of London, 1C created a stop motion animation to retell some key events. We worked in groups to produce a background and additional bits to retell a specific part of the story.
We then worked with Mr Moore to add a voice over to make it even more exciting!
As part of our speaking and listening, 1C looked at some would you rather questions and focused on answering them in full sentences and using “because” to justify our thoughts.
I wonder what our adults would choose for some of these questions?
This afternoon, 1C spent some time looking at stop motion animations. We learned the basics of creating our character, creating our background and moving the characters in slow movements to make it look like the character is walking.
We worked with Mr Cosgrove to take the pictures, as steadily as we could, and then put them in order, with title scenes to make our very own videos.
Here is the link to the typing game we explored in Computing today. Top score was held by River with 12162 points!
This morning we spent our time using different resources to show our learning about the Titanic. We used the iPads to research, Lego to build 20 lifeboats for our Titanic small world, wrote facts that we know in the writing area, looked at our senses and what we can hear, see and smell and wrote postcards from Samson from our class book, Samson’s Titanic Journey.
